A ride to Decatur, GA (April 27, 2003)

We went for a ride to visit a favorite spot, Decatur. It’s only a few miles away from home to the East (point 1 is our home, and point 2 is Decatur):

The center of Decaturhas a lot of cute shops, restaurants and nice buildings:

Most buildings are low but with a lot of detail (look in the background).

And of course, just half a block away is a park, which happened to have a festival with live music at the time:

Right next to the park is an area that is used for outdoor exhibits, and things of that kind.

After you cross that area, you go down some stairs and reach an area with lots of little shops and restaurants:

And of course, we have a favorite coffee shop, the “Java Monkey”:

The Java Monkey also hosts wine tastings, so you can go for more things than just caffeine:

But, it’s still early for things like that, so we will settle for something non-alcoholic (Thanos always gets a Caffe Americano, which is a triple espresso diluted with hot water; Luz likes to get a Cappucino or a Macchiato):

And like a lot of coffee shops in Atlanta, there is always an exhibit of paintings from local artists on sale:

So, we got our coffees and we are about to leave. But, let’s hug our friend, the Java Monkey before leaving (which in reality is a work of “art”).
